One For The Money

There is nothing like starting out a new venture on a positive note. The San Francisco Giants started us off in the win column with a 7-3 win last night. Lets go for two in a row.

Philadelphia Flyers Vs New Jersey Devils

Location: Prudential Center, New Jersey

Time: 7:00 est.

Line: Philadelphia -130 O/U 6 -110

Lets hit the ice for todays matchup. We head to New Jersey, where the Devils take on their East division rivals the Philadelphia Flyers, who are in desperate need of a win to stay in the playoff race.

The Philadelphia Flyers head to New Jersey tonight 11 points out of the playoff race, with only 7 games to go, to say they desperately need this win is an understatement. Maybe being away from home is exactly what they need. The Flyers are 12-10-3 away from the city of brotherly love this year. Going 4-5-1 in their last 10 games has left them on the outside looking in on a playoff birth. It starts with the sub par defense which is 31st in goals against and 30th in killing off penalties. Carter Hart has really looked human behind that terrible defense, I expect that Brian Elliott will get the start, as he sports the better numbers. Elliott is 13-7-2 on the season with a 2.98 goals against average and a .892 save percentage. The Flyer offense is lead by Jakub Voracheks 38 pionts, but Sean Couturier has had the hot hand popping in 4 goals and adding 3 assists in the last 10 games.

I expect this game to have a bunch of offense and I really did think about going with the over, but Philadelphia is absolutely desperate for a win and I expect they will try and bring their best effort here. I'm going to take the Flyers to get this win and stay in the playoff hunt just a little bit longer. They are better on the road than they are at home and I don't see a sliding Devils team winning back to back games. Why we shouldn’t be depressed about the ALCS loss

Now I am not going to pretend that I was in a good mood after that performance by the Red Sox last night, or Wednesday night. I’m not going to pretend that it’s not disappointing to come so close and
