One for the Money

Blue Collar media is your one stop shop for all your gambling needs. I'm a firm believer that if you are an avid sports fan, you can make money gambling. The key is control, gambling should be fun and add a little spice to the watching experience. This new feature is going to do just that, one pick a day for one unit. You wont find "locks" or "Whale" plays, just a one unit wager for some fun, excitement, and hopefully a little coin in your pocket. Lets get out of the gate strong!

San Francisco Giants Vs. Colorado Rockies

Location: Oracle Park, San Francisco

Time: 9:45 est.

Line: San Francisco -140

Our first play takes us out to the west coast to watch the surprising second place San Francisco Giants take on the struggling Colorado Rockies in an National League West matchup.

San Francisco will send send Alex Wood and his 0.50 ERA to the hill, looking to right the ship after last nights extra innings lose. Wood has been stellar so far this year going 2-0 and sporting an 11 to 1 strikeout to walk ratio. The Giant offense which is fourth in the league is lead by stalwarts Buster Posey and Evan Longoria. Posey leads the team with his .351 batting average, 5 homeruns, and 8 RBIs. Longoria is having a resurgence of sorts hitting at .316 clip and leading the team with 12 RBIs.

Colorado will be looking to build off last nights win, their first away from the friendly confines of Coors field. The season hasn't started off great, to say the least. Colorado currently sits in last place and traded their franchise player in the off season. The Rockies will counter Wood with German Marquez with his 1-1 record and 3.45 ERA. Marquez has already faced this Giant lineup once this season and had a solid outing going 5 2/3 innings and 7 strikeouts but gave up a couple of homers and took the loss. There haven't been too many bright spots on the Rocky offense but Ryan McMahon has provided a much needed pop, smacking 8 homeruns and driving in 15 runs.

The old saying in baseball is "momentum is the next days starting pitcher". I really like what Alex Wood is putting together, couple that with a strong bullpen and I give the edge to the Giants. Marquez has put together some good starts and having faced this lineup once should be an advantage, but the struggling Colorado offense and their abysmal road record will catch up to them today. If the Giants want to stay in the ultra competitive NL West race, they need to handle business at home against the bottom feeding Rockies.

Pick: San Francisco -140 (1 unit)
