Predicting NFL win totals is like predicting the weather in a week, go with partly sunny or partly cloudy, and hope for the best! I am going to try my best to find some winners for you, so let dive in!
Buffalo Bills over 8.5 (-159)
The Bills added Diggs in the offseason to further Josh Allen's development, which should provide an upgrade in the offensive punch. The defense will be formidable lead by Tre White and his new contract. The division is also in transition with the Patriots moving on from the Tom Brady era, the Jets retooling, and Miami continuing the rebuild. I like the Bills to get to 10 wins and cash this without a sweat.
Kansas City over 11.5 (-121)
I thought 11.5 was a good number at a good price. Baring an injury to Patrick Mahomes, I don't see how they don't get to at least 12 wins. The offense is the most explosive in the league and if Clyde Edwards-Helaire pans out it will make them multiple dimensional and a complete nightmare for the rest of the league. The division also doesn't scare me with Las Vegas in transition, the Chargers QB situation, and an improving but not quite there yet Broncos.
Jacksonville Jaguars under 4.5 (-143)
This is a full-on tank job. What a joke of a franchise, everyone that leaves dogs them out. They don't have the talent to compete on a serious level and they play in one of the toughest divisions in football with 3 possible playoff squads. The schedule makers didn't do them any favors drawing the NFC North this year as well. this has 2-14, 3-13 written all over it and I'm down on the under.
Pittsburgh Steelers over 9 (-121)
8-8 with Devlin Hodges and Mason Rudolph. Ben Roethlisberger's return as long as he is healthy will add two wins alone. One of the top defenses in the NFL won't be put into short field situations and offenses will have to take more chances with an offense that has a pulse on the other side. The division could be one of the best in football, but out of division are games against the Giants, Washington, and Jacksonville. At worst I think this is a push but I'm really expecting a 10-6 and a playoff birth.
Denver Broncos over 7.5 (+118)
Can Drew Lock take the next step? The Broncos went out and surrounded him with talent in Jerry Jeudy and Melvin Gordon, to go along with Noah Fant, Cortland Sutton, and Phillip Lindsay. They should get four division wins and then draw the AFC least as the crossover and Carolina. This one will be close but plus money and all the additions should add up to 8 wins.
There are my best guesses at NFL win totals for the year. Ill probably look like a total fool but hey that's what preseason predictions are all about!
