Erin's Style File: Insta Inspo

As promised, I've selected my favourite finds from thrift Instagram pages. These are people who have an exceptional love for thrifting and want to resell their best finds. These are pretty cool for a couple reasons. One, this is a way to make money (some make more than others depending on their markup). Two, depending on where these Instagram thrifters are from, you can snag some very cool and unique pieces! I've found great home and clothing items from all over North America. Here are my favourites, in no particular order.

** Note that many of these people have an Instagram presence as well as their own business websites for their curated finds. I've linked their Instagram only. Refer to each bio for a website link.

Alma Home & Vintage (Vancouver, BC)

Wicker Eye (~$20 CAD)

This item is a bit more boho than my usual liking, I like a more truly modern and clean look, but the wicker was too good to pass up! This wall in my bedroom needed a revamp and I wanted it simple. One and done. Done with one. Whatever the saying is, you get the point.

Wooden basket (~$10 CAD)

As I'm growing my never-ending basket wall, I'm looking for unique additions. This wooden basket was hard to pass up; I love the slotted sides especially.

mksfinds (Toronto, ON)

Cream Liz Claiborne Silk Shirt ($34 CAD)

Look ta those details! The buttons are creamy and shiny and the silk fabric falls so nicely.

To the left, I've styled with a black beret from Norwood, an underrated local Regina shop that carries brand names from Patagonia, Levi's, Minimum, Vans, etc. Perhaps not the most sustainable options, but might as well buy local when you can.

My newest find, a wicker basket with a handle. The reason I love things like this is because I can easily take it room to room and switch up what's inside depending on the function I need it to serve and the decor I want to show off.

Hey Now (Regina, SK)

Lightweight Trench, Coffee ($65 CAD)

A new favourite! Timeless and versatile.

613fashionfinds (Centretown, Ottawa)

My favourite of all of these thrifting Instagram "places!" Marley, the one and only curator, is personable and adds a genuine love for vintage and quality brand names. It's just better buying from someone you feel like you know. In every one of her drops there is something that I love - it's difficult to hold back.

90s Belted 100%Wool Moss Trousers ($55 CAD)

Here I styled it in a monochromatic look.

From 613fashionfinds, I also have a fuchsia sheath dress coming my way. I'm sure it'll be making a debut any day now.

Once Upon a Find (Regina, SK)

This little shop is a pair of moms who thrift and sell so you don't have to! I have proudly spent a lot of money here, but you would too if you could see everything! Here are a few of my timeless favourites.

Wicker Ottoman ($30 CAD)

A functional piece of decor, that's all this is. Currently its in my bedroom holding extra sheets and acts as a place to put those annoying decorative pillows that somehow never stay on the bed. The contrast against my white (secondhand) dresser is beautiful and ties in the other wicker pieces in the room, like the eye, plant stand and basket wall. Photos really don't do this item justice.

Oil and Vinegar Set ($14 CAD)

This is the most practical thing I may have ever bought secondhand, I'm just so glad it matches while making cooking supplies more accessible.

Magazine Basket ($20 CAD)

Who reads magazines anymore? Not me. But this item is perfect for adding a colourful throw and pillow. My living room colour is blue, as you can tell, but if I ever decide to switch it up, a couple cozy items in this basket and voila! An easy change up.

It's important to note that the home items are cohesive together. These are all beautiful pieces individually, but they're even nicer because they fit an overall modern vibe that I'm trying to achieve. Check out one of my previous posts, White and Wood, where I talk about this more in depth.

Why we shouldn’t be depressed about the ALCS loss

Now I am not going to pretend that I was in a good mood after that performance by the Red Sox last night, or Wednesday night. I’m not going to pretend that it’s not disappointing to come so close and
