Erin's Style File: My 5 Curated Picks

Recently I talked about my favourite thrift, consignment and vintage stores from Regina, Saskatoon and Vancouver. Since I was so excited to share those with you, I thought it only fit to also share my top finds from some of those places, so here we go!

Hazlewood

Oatmeal Easy Trousers ($40 CAD)

These were a bit out of my comfort zone but also not at all. They caught my eye because they are straight leg, neutral (the love of my life) and linen. These features made this item not too far from what I already owned. The elastic waist and belt loops makes these trousers comfortable without looking like sweatpants and add the option to elevate an outfit with another accessory. At the time that I bought these, however, I didn't own any trousers, so this purchase was something new for me.

Here I've styled the trousers a couple different ways, but each with a monochromatic goal. The camel coloured blazer is part of a two piece suit that I thrifted from Value Village, button up is from mks (@mkfinds on Instagram).

Hunter and Hare

Black Leather Oxford Shoes (reg. $44 CAD, on sale for $35 CAD)

This style of shoe was something that I had my eye on for a few months prior, but I knew that they had to be black to align with the rest of my wardrobe. I love that these shoes add a vintage look depending on what I style them with, yet are functional and comfortable to wear to work and on the weekends.

Here I styled these shoes with grey OBEY jeans (similar pair here) and a classic white button up (not pictured).

Rhoda's Elegance Again

Beige Pencil Skirt (~$15 CAD)

For the winter or spring months, this is an easy piece to style. In the colder months, I like to style this skirt with an oversized cream coloured knit sweater, the one pictured is from Emma Knudsen, a Canadian brand. This timeless sweater was part of their fall/winter collection, but other colors are available. Here is the same style sweater in brilliant white. White boots would slay with this outfit.

In the warmer months, you can't go wrong with a crisp white blazer with a white (or colourful, if you're more adventurous than me) dressy t-shirt. Gold-trimmed flats would be excellent with this elevated spring/summer outfit.

Accessories are so important to tie any outfit together, and here I love gold with the white and beige tones.

White Lace Mock Neck Long Sleeve (~$15 CAD)

This is something that I bought because I loved it but, admittedly, I didn't need and wasn't too sure how I would style it. BUT, it worked out better than I could imagine because its one of my favourite pieces in my closet and almost makes me feel like a boss. I always wear this white long sleeve body suit from Smash and Tess underneath. Whether paired with grey jeans or straight leg trousers, it's an immediately elegant outfit.

Here it is paired with mens trousers that I thrifted from Value Village, SheIn booties and silver jewelry.

Little Moon Black Jumpsuit (~$20)

Little black jumpsuit - this should replace the little black dress, am I right or am I right?

I've worn this to all types of occasions, from a day at work (teaching the future generation) to a COVID New Year's Eve, what could be more perfect? A simple black and gold look is timeless and automatically elegant.

Here I styled it with Steve Madden mules from Swank Shoe Lounge.

I hope you loved reading this as much as I loved writing it! In addition to these pieces, I have more favourite finds from Instagram thrifting pages from around Canada, from Regina to Calgary to Ottawa. I hope to share these in another blog post, coming soon!

What is something that you bought secondhand and love? I want to hear about it in the comments!
