EPL Week Four Bets To Take & Avoid

2 Games to Bet On

First of all, we have to acknowledge that last week was a tough one for predictions, as the Premier League was flooded with shocks and drama throughout the weekend. However, this weekend is a fresh set of fixtures and we look to bounce back to winning ways, with the ever-consistent structure, of our advice of two games we advise could be good options to bet one, whilst having an additional game we would stay away from this time out. Let’s get back to winning ways, shall we?

2 Games to bet on –

1) Leicester City v West Ham

Last weekend, saw one of the most remarkable performances in Leicester City history as they dispatched title challengers Manchester City, and did so whilst scoring 5 goals. The vast number of attacking threats that Brendan Rodgers has, is frightening and their quality and skill set, was on show last weekend at the Etihad. Talisman Jamie Vardy, was it his best, and it was also great to see James Maddison get some more playing time, in which he scored a wonder goal, to top off a spectacular away performance.

You might be surprised to see that I have predicted a team to lose this week off the back of a 4-0 victory against a very solid Wolves side, however that is exactly what I am doing. Unfortunately, from a Hammers perspective, I don’t see last weeks effort, as their long-term future and still worry about them defensively, as well as their creativity in midfield. I expect goals at Sunday lunchtime, but I also expect the Foxes to be taking all three points.

Prediction – Leicester City 3-1 West Ham

2) Leeds United v Manchester City

Surely City can’t let us down two weeks in a row? Yes, last week was one to forget for the men in sky blue, however I don’t see it happening again. City will look to bounce back strong and send a message to the league that they are genuine title contenders and Leeds could sadly be the team on the receiving end. The possible reintroduction of Laporte into the starting XI, as well as new signing Ruben Dias, will look to solidify, that so far struggling central defensive position.

This prediction is nothing to do with Leeds and the football they’ve been playing so far this season. In fact, I’ve been impressed for many moments in their opening three weeks of their Premier League return season. However, with the quality of Manchester City’s attacking options, I think Leeds will find, keeping the Sky Blues out, very tricky. Last weekend, goalkeeper Meslier, produced a fine display between the sticks to produce Leeds first clean sheet of the season. But with a more clinical side this time out, Meslier will have to keep out of his skin to replicate last week. Again, expect goals.

Prediction – Leeds United 1-4 Manchester City

1 Game to not bet on –

1) Newcastle United – Burnley

To finish this week’s predictions, we have the battle of two sides from the North of England in the form of Newcastle United and Burnley. Newcastle’s weekend, was saved by a controversial VAR decision last time out, resulting in a penalty being awarded, which was dispatched by Callum Wilson a point, which was very hard to argue they deserved. The Toon have the added bonus of the potential return of Allan Saint-Maximin from an ankle injury, to bring some energy and quality in the final third. Although Bruce’s men have had a solid start, picking up 4 points in the first three games, they have only managed to conjure 3 shots on target, all of which have resulted in goals. If Newcastle are to be more of a threat this season going forward, they need to provide more goal scoring opportunities for the likes of Saint-Maximin and Wilson.

Burnley look a different side from last year, as injuries and board disputes, have the club sitting in the relegation zone, yet to pick up a point. However, Burnley need not panic, as they have started with many injuries to regular first team players and have played only two games. The return of James Tarkowski in the Carabao Cup in the week, is a huge bonus to solidify the defence, whilst Ashley Barnes also made his return, providing another goalscoring option, for the men from Lancashire. Again, another game I would choose not to bet on, as I see all three results but personally, I feel Newcastle may sneak it, with Wilson grabbing the winner.

Prediction – Newcastle United 2-1 Burnley

Why we shouldn’t be depressed about the ALCS loss

Now I am not going to pretend that I was in a good mood after that performance by the Red Sox last night, or Wednesday night. I’m not going to pretend that it’s not disappointing to come so close and
